Hale Sure Start Children's Centre

Safeguarding

Hale Children's Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment

A Parent’s Guide to Safeguarding

Children and families are best supported and protected when there is a co-ordinated response from all   relevant agencies. At Hale School and Children’s Centre we understand the requirement to create a safe and secure environment for all children to grow, develop and achieve to their own individual potential. To ensure that all children flourish we will strive to protect them from harmful influences and actions either on the part of others or themselves. By doing this we will enable each and every child to maximise their own life chances. In accordance with our safeguarding policy we have a duty of care to effectively safeguard all the children in our school, nursery and children’s centre.

We will:

Value all of the children and ensure they are at the centre of our work

We will listen to and observe the children we work with.

We will follow up any absences from school and missed appointments with staff.

We will share all of our concerns with parents and carers respectfully, honestly and in a timely manner

Where discussing our concerns with parents and carers may put a child at further risk we will contact

the Multi Agency Support Hub (MASH) for advice.

We will record conversations and share with other professionals where appropriate.

We will ensure all Governors, Staff, visitors and anyone else who is involved in the school and

children's centre work are aware of and committed to the safeguarding policy and procedures.

Hale School and Children's Centre have a shared ethos that safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility and children have a right to be protected from all forms of abuse and neglect. It is better to help children as early as possible, before issues escalate and become more damaging.
